Adaptive Ballet Classes for Children with Special Needs
Introducing Adaptive Ballet at Osipova Ballet Academy!
Osipova Ballet Academy is excited to introduce a new pilot program: Adaptive Ballet Class, creating a welcoming and supportive environment where children with diverse abilities can experience the joy of dance. Through music, movement, and ballet-inspired exercises, students will have opportunities to develop coordination, balance, flexibility, strength, musicality, and body awareness at their own pace. Our goal is to make the beauty and benefits of ballet accessible to every child while fostering confidence, creativity, self-expression, and a sense of belonging. We look forward to welcoming our dancers and helping each one discover the joy of movement!
Adaptive Ballet is offered to students ages 6 - 12 years old, and the class will be capped at 8 students.
Adaptive Ballet is a recreational dance education program. It is not medical care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, behavioral therapy, or another clinical or therapeutic service, and OBA does not diagnose, treat, or provide medical services for disabilities or medical conditions. A student's personal aide remains responsible for the student's individualized personal, behavioral, medical, or physical assistance when that assistance is beyond the instructor's role.

OBA welcomes students with disabilities and is committed to providing equal access to its programs in accordance with applicable federal and California law.
OBA does not discriminate against a student on the basis of disability. A student's disability, diagnosis, or need for accommodation will not, by itself, prevent the student from participating in an OBA program.
OBA will consider requests for reasonable accommodations and reasonable modifications to its policies, practices, and procedures when necessary to provide a student with an equal opportunity to participate. All accommodation requests will be evaluated on an individualized basis. An accommodation is not required if it would fundamentally alter the nature of the program, impose an undue burden, or create a significant safety concern that cannot reasonably be addressed. OBA will discuss proposed accommodations with the student's parent or guardian when appropriate.
A parent, caregiver, or personal aide may be required to remain available, in case a student's individual support needs exceed what the instructor and class staffing can safely provide. OBA instructors teach the ballet class. A student's personal aide remains responsible for the student's individualized personal, behavioral, medical, or physical assistance when that assistance is beyond the instructor's role.
Adaptive Ballet is a recreational dance education program. It is not medical care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, behavioral therapy, or another clinical or therapeutic service, and OBA does not diagnose, treat, or provide medical services for disabilities or medical conditions.
Parents and guardians must provide current emergency contact information and any emergency information that is relevant to their child's participation. Parents and guardians are responsible for notifying OBA of emergency procedures or information that instructors reasonably need to know in order to respond appropriately to an emergency. In the event of an emergency, OBA staff will follow the Academy's emergency procedures and contact emergency services when appropriate. OBA staff are not expected to provide medical care beyond their training and applicable legal responsibilities.
OBA's standard photography, video, and publicity policies apply to Adaptive Ballet students unless otherwise agreed in writing. Parents may contact OBA regarding any concerns about photography or video participation.
A student's disability or medical information will not be publicly disclosed as part of promotional materials without appropriate authorization.
