TITLE: Master Ballet Instructor

DUTIES: Instruct students of all ages and levels using Russian Vaganova classical methodology (“Vaganova Method”), including technique, repertoire, performance, competition and audition presentation. Teach classical ballet technique, including partnering technique (pas de deaux) using Vaganova Method. Teach character dance techniques. Teach stretching/core exercises or ballet dancers. Teach acting for ballet dancers. Provide advanced training for ballet teachers on Vaganova Method. Develop original choreography using Vaganova Method. Create choreography for performances, recitals, and for students preparing ballet repertoire. Manage preparation of ballet reproductions and stage performances. Prepare students for the performances and competitions through additional classes, coaching, and rehearsals, as required. Provide assessments to the students, as well as progress reports and recommendations for level placement to the Artistic Director. Participate in the daily activities of Academy, which may include interacting with faculty, staff, and pianists, and attending regular meetings.

REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Dance, Ballet, or closely related field.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: At least TWO (2) years of experience in the job offered or at least TWO (2) years of experience in the following:

1. Instructing students of all ages and levels using Russian Vaganova classical methodology including technique, repertoire, performance, competition and audition presentation.

2. Developing original choreography using the Russian Vaganova methodology for performances and recitals

3. Teaching character dance technique

4. Teaching stretching /core exercises for ballet dancers

5. Managing preparation of ballet reproductions and staging performances

6. Providing assessments and progress reports to students
